Meredith: Guardian of the Sea
It
was like any other Sunday. Beatrice and Edmund would get up to go on their
weekly walk through the park. Only this week Beatrice decided that they were
going to take a shorter route through the beach so that they could make it home
before it rained. Upon arriving to the beach, Beatrice and Edmund both noticed
a small figure moving in the sand right near the shore. Slowly approaching the
unknown creature, Beatrice hears a soft but sweet sound of a baby. When Beatrice
picked the newborn child up from the sand, she noticed a locket type necklace, the
size of the newborn child’s hand, that hand three teardrop shaped indents with
all three points touching in the middle. The child looked at her with the
biggest aqua colored eyes and it was then when Beatrice decided that she was
going to take her home and raise her as if she was her own. Beatrice told
Edmund that they would have to build a large stone wall around their house so
that they could live in peace without anybody finding out about their daughter.
They knew that if people ever found out they would take her away for good. They
took her home and Beatrice made Edmund promise that they were not going to tell
their new child of where she was found. All that mattered was that she had a
home with them. Beatrice, who still had the strange locket with her, decided
that she was going to save it for her child for when she was older. Together
they picked out the name Meredith Rose Parker. Right away they started to build
the stone wall around their house. When they were done, they made sure that
there was no way that their daughter could escape.
For
sixteen whole years, Meredith remained in the house and never once went outside
of the walls. Over and over again she would plead to her parents to just let
her see what’s beyond the walls. She knew that her parents were hiding
something about her past so she went looking for answers.
One
day when her parents went out, she decided to look through her parent’s stuff
to find answers about her past. Looking for answers, Meredith came upon a
locket that looked familiar but she knew that she has never seen it before. On
the side of the locket she found the words “Guardian of the Sea.” She took it
in her hands and when she held the locket in her hands, she had a flashback
type vision of a caring mother and father who had to abandon their newborn
daughter on a beach because they were scared for her safety. Meredith stopped
the vision before it could finish because it was too powerful for her to handle.
She was so scared that she decided to put it back where she found it.
Immediately she decided to search the locket on the Internet but came up with
nothing. Around this time she had a gut feeling that she was not related to her
parents in any way. She felt like they were keeping her from finding herself.
Meredith walked around her yard to see if there was any way that she could
escape her dreadful life. When she was walking around, she saw a blue shiny
diamond on the ground. When she held it, she recognized the shape from the
locket. She ran in to get the locket and placed the blue diamond in one of the
indents and it fit. She put it on and immediately she noticed that the diamond
started to glow. Some how Meredith knew that this necklace would lead her to
her past and a better future. Again when she held the necklace with both hands
and the flashback vision would play from where she left off. She saw that the
caring parents were trying to keep her safe because there was a wicked witch
that was trying to kidnap Meredith because… there was a knock on the door. She
put her hands out in a “stop” position and it instantly started to pour. When
Meredith went to open the door, she noticed that she still had the locket on.
She took it off and hid it in her pocket. Her parents were standing there
soaked in water and they blamed her. They were so mad that they locked her up
in the attic without food or water. When she was up in the attic, she was
asking herself if she was the one that made it rain. But when she thought about
it, she knew that it was impossible. When she was sitting in the corner of the
attic, she saw a red figure that was glowing in the near the window. She
grabbed it and noticed that it looked exactly the same as the blue one she
found earlier. She put it onto the necklace and both diamonds started to glow.
Not knowing what to do, she decided to hold the necklace with both hands. This
time the vision was different. It wasn’t telling her about the past it was
telling her about the diamonds. It was telling her that if she wanted to have a
better future she needed to find all the diamonds. It said that the blue
diamond would control water and the weather, the red diamond would give her
ideas, and the yellow diamond would help her sense danger. Before she could
finish the vision, Meredith heard footsteps coming up the steps to the attic.
Using her new powers, she climbed out of the windows, over then stone wall, and
ran as far as she could so she could have a better life. The only pace she
found herself going was the beach. She lied in the sand and waited. When she got
up, she stepped on something really hard. When she lifted her foot up, she
noticed that it was the last diamond to her necklace. Meredith put it on to her
necklace and all of the sudden it started to storm and she was picked up from
the ground and was transformed into the Guardian of the Sea. She was wearing an
aqua blue dress that matched her eyes and wore a silver crown upon her head.
She was the savior that was going to save the waters of the earth. She was what
the people of the water have been waiting for.
